The world has these judgements about what they don’t know because they fear what they don’t know. And… I sort of saw this social media landscape as an opportunity to connect with a lot of things and a lot of people that I had fear about.

I saw the potential of that being that someday, somebody may say “hey we are going to war with this country” and maybe because of social media I have a friend that’s there or I know somebody who’s there. That guy that was a foreigner to me, that I was afraid of, that was wearing a turbant right over there… And maybe I’m going to be the person that stands up and say “we can’t go blow those people up because my friend lives there”.

I see that potential in social media and in technology: to connect people, to bring people together.
